Great Stay

Great getaway to a getaway for anytime, anyplace
Great getaway and secluded, beautiful views, serene and quiet. Inside is full of entertainment why leave when everything is there. Game room, hot tub, spacious bedrooms, try to minimize parking to 2 full size SUV’s or 4 small compact vehicles. Otherwise it’s a blast and we ( party of 10) loved it . We’re coming back

Peaceful
We rented this cabin for a weekend family getaway with our two adult children and their families (six adults and a toddler). The cabin was spacious and allowed us to gather for meals and fun while also having our own private areas. The cabin was exceptionally clean and well stocked with everything we would need.

Fantastic Family Stay
We had a quick multi family weekend getaway and Hurricane Hideaway was perfect! The property is well appointed, has plenty of room for a large family or multiple families to relax and has so much to do without even getting in your car. The first floor game room with bunk bed room was a huge hit for the 4 teenagers. The hot tub was clean and HOT, which can’t always be said and vacation rentals. There are some really cool trials right in the back yard which was a nice surprise. This house had everything plus more.

Nice Cozy Cabin
We spent our Thanksgiving at the Hurricane Hideaway. There were 4 adults and 3 kids (ages 16, 14, and 10). We had a wonderful trip. The cabin was cozy (especially with the indoor gas fireplace) and there was enough space for all of us. The primary bedroom was huge with a comfortable king sized bed. The bunk room was perfect for our kids. The shower pressure in the shower was great! The kitchen was on the smaller side, but was fine for our short stay. We would have liked a large table so all 7 of us could have eaten at the same table, but everyone had a spot between 2 tables. I would have liked the kitchen to have more containers to store leftovers, but there isn't a ton of cabinet space, so I'm sure they just have to keep all of the real necessities stocked. They had 2 crock pots, which were great! There is not a garbage disposal. The clubhouse is so nice and a short drive (or a very hilly walk). We met friends here and had dinner together. We also took advantage of the big screened TV there. We drove into Boone one day, which is a cute little town and had lunch and walked around App State University. You won't want to leave very often though. It's a 30 minute drive to Boone on very steep and windy roads. We had a great trip!

Great Family Mtn Retreat
Excellent time and host response! Back decks with hot tub and grill were excellent. We cooked in both nights! Wish we had another day to enjoy the community amenities. Thank you for a relaxing weekend!

Stunning Views and Dogs Allowed
The cabin was clean, warm, and cozy. The decks had stunning views, the hot tub was a hit, and the grill was easy to use. The trip was fun since there are trails, and creeks to explore outside and a pool table, darts, and games to play indoors. The layout of the cabin was perfect for multiple families. We plan to go back soon, so needless to say, we highly recommend this vacation home.

A Slice of Heaven
Exactly as described, clean, well-maintained, property management helped with every little thing we needed, particularly some pesky ants in the kitchen. I would recommend and the entire family wants to come back. The covered back deck was the "tie breaker" with other rentals and we spent most of our time out there.

Great stay
We booked Hurricane Hideaway for a late 60th birthday celebration. The property manager provided great, clear directions and the house was clean and maintained. The porches are lovely and the hot tub was a hit. It is 'off the beaten path' so if you're wanting to go into Boone or Blowing Rock, go out to eat or otherwise fairly often, it may not be the location for you. But, we had young kids with us so we planned on cooking the whole time. Hiking and creek nearby and easily accessible. Unfortunately, it was too cold to use the pool but otherwise, I would have liked to! Would recommend!

Our vacation in August
We had a great vacation. You need to bring extra trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels, and paper plates if you don't want to run out or have to wash dishes or load the dishwasher. We did have an issue with some dirty plates in the cabinets. We just washed them before we used them. The baking pans and frying pans weren't in the best shape.
The game room in the house and the Community Center were a lot of fun! The hot tub was a hit too! I also enjoyed watching the deer!

Spacious cabin with lots of amenities
We really enjoyed our stay. There is plenty of bedroom space and the hot tub, pool table, and great deck space are all nice extras. The kitchen and living area could be bigger, considering how much sleeping accommodation the place has.

We loved staying here! Susan was very easy to reach and very responsive. We spent a ton of time at the house because there was so much to do, but you’re close to all of the fun stuff to do in Boone and Blowing Rock. We would definitely stay here again.

Wedding Weekend Trip
Hurricane Hideaway was a very nice place for the short time we were there. Somewhat a trek to get to from main highway, but overall very enjoyable place to stay. Only complaint would be internet did not work. We were in town for a wedding at SkyView Retreat and the property was located close to the venue.

We had a wonderful time with our week in the cabin. Secluded, yet close enough to town if you don’t mind a drive in the beautiful mountains. Susan was great with answering questions prior to trip and very helpful. You can’t go wrong with this cabin.

We had an awesome time in this beautiful cabin. Only negative is limited parking. The pool table and hot tub were big hits. We had snow several days we were there, beautiful to watch falling. We drove to a nearby soccer complex to do some sledding. Very fun trip!

Hurricane Hideaway
We had a wonderful time over the labor day weekend. The only negative is that the paddle boats were old and only one was functioning-other barely and that the kayaks had no paddles so we were unable to use. House was amazing as well as the trail and wildlife right outside the house.

Beautiful cabin in a beautiful location
We loved our stay at this cabin, it's even more scenic than in the pictures and it housed our family really well. The only slight inconveniences we experienced were that a few light bulbs were out - one lamp in the living room, the hallway light, and the outside lights on the upper 2 back decks. There was other lighting so the place wasn't too dark but it would have been nice to have these. The mifi that is provided was already capped out with data so we weren't able to use it, which was a bit of a surprise, but we tried to enjoy being disconnected and really immerse ourselves in the mountains.

Christmas get away
Overall the cabin was nice. But for me it was not the right house...fireplace did not work and it was a very dark kitchen to cook Christmas dinner. Plus there is no internet period....which somehow today...you need to find away to install. I suspect during the summer months it would be more fun.

Very Nice Rental
We enjoyed the short vacation staying at Hurricane Hideaway. The only issue we had was the Propane heater in the Man Cave (Basement) would not light so we had to move a couple of the girls upstairs on a couch and futon, but they did not mind.
