Great End of Summer Family Get-Away at Powder Horn Resort!
Our family had a wonderful stay at Gnome Away property in Powder Horn Resort offered by Moonlight Cabin Rentals. The house was perfect for our family of 6 adults, 2 toddlers, 1 baby, and 2 fur babies. Everyone had a great time! It was close to everything we wanted to do in the Boone/Blowing Rock area. We spent one whole day enjoying the cabin and the great amenities at Power Horn Resort. Moonlight Cabin Rentals was prompt in responding to all our requests and were easy to work with. Highly recommend this property/resort/agency and we will definitely use them again in the future.

Cute Cabin
Very cute cabin up in the mountains. Nice Bedrooms and large basement with 2 sets of bunks. Also had a pool table that will convert to a ping pong table. Very quiet area. The porch was big enough for lots of people

Beautiful, Well-Equipped Cabin with some temp control challenges
We had a great 2-night stay at Gnome Away from Home during our kids' spring break. The cabin is lovely, clean, well-stocked and equipped. There were games to play, TVs to watch, deck and woods to explore. The only semi-negative comment I might mention is that with the fluctuating temperature of springtime and only one thermostat for the whole cabin, it was very difficult to get the basement floor warm enough for our kids to sleep down there without making the two upstairs floors swelteringly hot. For future guests, or if we ever stayed there again, I would recommend taking a space heater for the room in the basement if that is allowed. Also the wording of the contract made it difficult for me to find the door code when we got there. It was in there, but it was sort of hidden in the way it was written, so I stood on the front porch for 15 minutes searching for it before we finally figured it out.

Long Weekend Stay
My family of 4 enjoyed a last-minute long weekend stay at this beautiful home. Although there are other homes close by, it was quiet and the deck area faced the woods. We enjoyed sitting on the deck, seeing deer, listening to the birds, and the cicadas and crickets at night. The home was well-stocked with the basics for cooking meals and had lots of pretty decorative touches. Our teen boys enjoyed the game room (although we weren't able to find the cue sticks and balls for the pool table). We didn't take advantage of the community pool or club house, but both looked nice. When we went out to explore the Powder Horn Mountain community on Sunday, we weren't able to locate the campground/creek area--not sure if it was our poor map-reading skills or the road sign marked "private" that threw us off. The gate station is not staffed on Sundays or we would have asked for directions. Instead, we spent the day exploring Boone and Blowing Rock. The home was a little further out from Boone than we expected taking into account the winding mountain roads, but it wasn't too bad. Would definitely advise bringing groceries/supplies or stopping on the way if you can. Overall, a lovely stay with very easy check-in/check out process.

Gnome Away from Gnome - recommended stay
Gnome Away from Gnome was a perfect place for our family. The cabin had everything we needed. The response to our questions from the property management was within minutes of asking the questions. We would definitely recommend Gnome Away from Gnome and if given the opportunity we would stay there again.

Great community and amenities!
While it rained the whole time during my stay, it was still easy to tell that the community had lots to offer with the trails and clubhouse. And Gnome away from home was a really cute, clean cabin. Would definitely recommend. It is smaller than it appears in photos , but quite comfortable. Rental staff was also great and helpful with everything.
