Eagle Point - Powder Horn Mountain

We had a bit of a rough start with this stay. When we arrived, the gate code didn’t work and we had no cell service to reach out for help. After about 30 minutes of trying and panicking, we were lucky that another car came through around 10:30 PM and we were able to follow them in.

When we finally got signal again, our GPS led us to the wrong location (just woods nearby), and we had to do some scrambling to figure out the correct spot. It also wasn’t immediately clear that the property was a duplex which would have helped a ton! Once we found it, the keys were difficult to use — we really had to struggle to get the door open.

When we finally got inside, there was a strange odor in the house, which made the first impression a little unpleasant.

On the positive side, everyone we interacted with was very kind and helpful once we were able to connect with them. I just wish we hadn’t needed so much assistance to get in and settled. The view was beautiful.

This was our first trip to the community. We really enjoyed our stay. The unit was clean, did have a "musty" smell that seemed to get better with the use of box fans we brought. Communication was always good! We enjoyed walking the trails. Not a lot in the area for restuarants or stores, so as they mention pick up groceries before you get there. Boone is about 30 moms away. Also depending on which way you come in, part of the road is unsaved. The pool area was very clean, we really enjoyed our stay!

One of the best stays we've ever had there. Everything was amazing from the cleanliness of the house to the upkeep of the trails. We love staying with Moonlight Properties. Susan and her team are top notch professionals. Can't wait to stay again.

A wonderful economic duplex within a beautiful community. Stunning sunrise/sunset views. Simple but well maintained. Great porch with large grill and awesome views. Lovely trails to hike and just explore. Very peaceful and affordable.

We had a great weekend here as a family. The house was as described and even better than the pictures! We especially enjoyed playing games, hiking and time at the creek, and the lovely view from the deck. The house was clean and communication was excellent. Would definitely go back!

Community is huge, passed it first time since street # is illegible. Beautiful mountain ridge view out back deck. Gotta drive everywhere, very spread out. Nice pool area & trails, ponds with kayaks etc. Cabin eating & living areas sufficiently clean but could use a good spring cleaning. AC units are makeshift, cheap but serviceable. Gas grill is newer. Internet is inadequate for multiple devices at 1 time. Speedtest 2.37Mbps. Why Hughesnet when there's cable hanging along road? Bathtub drains are clogged. Nice stove with no pots/pans. Rules & emails are suffocating but we are thankful we could bring our housetrained small dog. I tripped on deck nails sticking up 1/2".

Mark, We are sad to hear you did not enjoy your stay with us. We wish you had reached out to us while you were here as we have full time maintenance on the mountain and would have checked the deck and taken care of those drains. We are heading over to the cabin today to take a look and address your concerns. We also haven't had any feedback from other guest or our cleaning team that the cabin is missing pots and pans. That is on the list to check as well. We strive for five star reviews and provide our 24 hour/7 day a week contact information to all guests before arrival and in the binder in the cabin. We would have addressed your concerns within a few hours if you had notified us. Also, our community is in the process of getting fiber optic internet, which is why there is still Hughes net. We can't wait until we are able to connect. We do mention in the listing that the internet may be limited. Evening follow-up: Maintenance and one of the managers did a thorough check of the property. All sinks, toilets, and bathtubs were draining properly. The pots and pans were in the free standing storage cabinet as well as the toaster and waffle maker. We did find a few nails that were pulled up on one board and maintenance took care of them. All electronics, air conditioners, fans and lights were in working order as well.

My family of four had a wonderful time at Eagle Point. The cabin was clean, well-prepared for our stay, and the view is spectacular. The Powder Horn community is quiet, peaceful and delightful. We took advantage of the game room, hiking trails and the campground, where firewood is provided for free. We even tried our hand at disc golf. The short term rental team at Moonlight impressed with timely and informative communication, and service that is above and beyond the normal rental experience.

The inside of the property was clean and very comfortable. Well-stocked kitchen. Easy drive in and the community amenities were great. Nice view but don't plan on spending much time on the patio; the chairs weren't comfortable and the outside was crawling with spiders and ants. But this place is a great value for the money.

We had a great time, and the location was perfect. Susan was great and very helpful! We visited Blowing Rock and Boone and enjoyed the restaurants and shopping.

Great little place. My only complaint (not the fault of the owner/manager) was that the cars drove so fast on the windy roads that I couldn't go for walks with my dogs like I normally enjoy on vacations.
